CSA Technical Track:

Securing the Internet of Things (IoT)

Attack surfaces, vulnerabilities, and best practices

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the far-reaching, interconnected networks of internet-accessible devices (things) equipped with software and firmware to collect, store, and transmit data to other IoT devices or other internet-connected devices.

No standard manufacturing requirements currently exist for developers of IoT devices. IoT devices may pose various threats to networks, the devices on those networks, or personal/sensitive data.

  • IoT devices may be conscripted into a botnet with other devices and used to carry out attacks
  • IoT devices with cameras or microphones can be hijacked and used to spy on users
  • Privacy concerns arise when excessive data is shared/collected from device manufacturers
  • Potential man-in-the-middle attacks between IoT or other smart devices

In this webinar, we will hear from industry leaders about those types of threats as well as evolving best practices for securing IoT devices.

Featured Speakers:

Dick Wilkinson – Cofounder and Chief Technology Officer at Proof Labs (former CISO for the New Mexico Supreme Court)

Kalyan Siddam – Product Management Leader – IoT Security at Palo Alto Networks

Wayne Lee – OT Cybersecurity Leader at JCS International, LLC (AgileOT)
